Sick Julia | @Darren
Julia smiled when he walked in and asked how she was. He immediately began to make the soup. “My stomach hurts. But other than that, it’s gotten a lot better than yesterday.” She heard him making soup and laughed. “Have I told you that I adore you lately?” She was so appreciative that he was doing this though. I mean did friends really get any better than this.
Darren smiled sadly. He didn’t like it when people were hurting at all, especially his friends. He leaned against the counter and chuckled as it heated. “I don’t believe you have. Last time I told you that you did you told me I could leave my ego at the door.” Darren wasn’t really egotistical, at least not if you knew him. He had a sharp tongue and claimed to be the best thing to ever walk the planet but his true friends knew better. Once the soup was finished he put it in a bowl and brought it out to the couch. “One bowl of soup.” he chimed cheerfully, wanting Julia in a good mood even though she was sick.

Julia was curled up on her couch, sipping at a Chai tea and reading The Great Gatsby for the millionth time. It was literally one of her favorite books, and she read it whenever she was sick or bored. She had told Darren that he could come over, and she was really hoping he would bring soup. Lauren was out somewhere, and Julia was alone for the night. She sighed, flipping another page in the book. She was wearing her glasses, and every so often they would slide down her nose and she would have to readjust them. She waited for Darren while reading, hoping he knew to just come in instead of knocking.
Darren didn’t have any chicken noodle soup but he stopped by one of the campus stores and picked some up on his way to Julia’s. It didn’t add too much commute time for him. He made sure he was bundled up but didn’t know why. If he didn’t get sick from Julia the weather wouldn’t hurt him either. Once he got there he knocked just for the sake of doing so before opening the door and smiling at her. “Hey.” he greeted. “How’re you feeling?” Darren immediately set to work making the soup he’d brought as he waited for her answer.
